Cleaning out the camera from the week, I was happy to discover some candid shots of A as she waited for the school bus. The bus company has her scheduled for pick up at 8:38 am and she has to wait 5 minutes outside prior to that, just in case its running early. Usually its not. Last week she waited 25 minutes outside in the cold before I called to see how delayed the bus was. I felt so bad when I learned the buses weren't running that day as it was too cold. I'm not a seasoned-enough Winnipeger to have known that buses don't pick-up when it's below -35 C. Adaptable A hadn't complained the whole time she was out on the porch!
Ai had the stomach flu this week so was on the couch this particular morning watching a DVD. It was so sweet to see A peeking in the window, longing to watch it, too.
Caught taking her photo, she pulled the old tongue rolling trick - the only one in our family with the genes to do it. It's brought up some fun discussions at the dinner table about dominant and recessive genes - something I didn't start learning about until high school biology! She's certainly precocious . . .

Yes, but can she raise her eyebrows individually, at will? :) Susan
No . . . she's not so talented with the eyebrows as with the lip-puckering and the tongue-curling. Iz on the other hand just might master that eyebrow trick one day . . .
